But the U-19 team should not forget themselves in order to avoid a lessening of their achievements."
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - House of Representatives (DPR) commission-X member Anton Sukartono Suratto has urged the government and the team coach to prioritize the nutritional intake of the under-19 years old national soccer team (Timnas U-19).

"Footballers need as much energy as one and a half times of an adult to assure their best performance," Anton said in his written statement here on Saturday.

According to Anton, soccer is one of the major sports, so footballers should receive adequate nutrition.

In addition to nutrition, the government should also pay attention to the need of honorariums for members of the "Young Garuda" squad.

"But the U-19 team should not forget themselves in order to avoid a lessening of their achievements," he noted.

The Timnas U-19 has been scheduled to participate in four tryout matches, the first of which is the so-called Nusantara Tour (Archipelagic tour).

According to the Timnas U-19 coach, Indra Sjafri, one of the domestic tryout matches will take place in Indonesias eastern-most province of Papua.

"The four tryouts are the domestic (Tour Nusantara), the Middle Eastern, the European and a Mini Tournament in Jakarta," Indra said recently, adding that the national soccer team will also take part in the International Championship AFC U-19 in Myanmar in October 2014.
