"We hope the people of Bali will give their strong support to PDI-P," the partys deputy secretary general, Hasto Kristiyanto, said here this morning.
According to Hasto, Megawati will campaign in Bali because the island is one of the bases of PDI-P support, and the campaign is expected to attract tens of thousands of people across Bali province.
Hasto said that after the campaign, Megawati will visit a health clinic and discount market, as organized by PDI-P cadres in Tabanan district.
Megawati also campaigned at Pancasila sport stadium in Surabaya, East Java, last Monday.
In her speech, Megawati said she welcomed the public's enthusiasm for PDI-P candidate Jakarta Governor Joko Widodo, better known as Jokowi, as the presidential candidate for the party.
"I have honored the public's hope by nominating Jokowi as PDI-Ps presidential hopeful, and now is the time for the people to prove it by supporting him in the upcoming presidential election," Megawati noted.
