Coconut product is delivered to foreign countries as a main export commodity..."
Manado (ANTARA News) - North Sulawesi exports 26 tons of coconut flour to Russia because market demand on this commodity is fairly high.

Head of Foreign Trade from Department of Industry and Trade of North Sulawesi Tahi Hasudungan Siregar here on Thursday stated that the exports of coconut flour yield foreign exchange worth US$59,759.

"Coconut product is delivered to foreign countries as a main export commodity, routinely done almost every month," he confirmed.

Coconut flour exports to Russia marked the more stable market in that country. Years ago, this country was only an alternative market, and it has become a constant market within the last two years, as Tahi Hasundungan explained.

"Currently, exporting to Russia has been growing continuously; there must be commodities to be exported to Russia," he added.

Based on the information, coconut flour demands from Russia is very high, however it cannot be optimized due to the limitations of coconut flour that can be sent to the country.

The Indonesian government has clarified that it will facilitate all regional commodities so that they can be sold in the global market.

"We will keep working toward creating new markets for North Sulawesi export commodities like coconut products, nutmeg and fishery products," he remarked.
