"Together, let us support the next president by easing his or her tasks," President Yudhoyono said at a function to open the Assembly on the Preparation for National Development (Musrenbangnas) here on Wednesday.
Yudhoyono also expressed his hope that the next government will implement the next 5-to-10-year development program.
Further, he added that the next government should also learn from the experience of the past 10 years to consider strategic environmental development and dare to set a difficult goal to achieve.
"With unity, hard work and Gods help, we hope Indonesia will progress even further," the head of state noted.
On the occasion, Yudhoyono also bid adieu by saying that it was the last time he will attend the Assembly on the Preparation for National Development in his capacity as president.
"In the nearly 10 years of my government, there were a several unpleasant issues for which I offer my apology. It is my prayer that the next government will be much better and will increasingly advance with many achievements," he said.
