The new additions are the first A4 monochrome models to offer seamless integration to the imageRUNNER-ADVANCE infrastructure

Jakarta, May 19, 2014 - (ANTARA) - Canon today announced the launch of two additions to the award-winning imageRUNNER ADVANCE (iR-ADV) product line, the iR-ADV 400i and 500i. These A4 high-speed monochrome models are the first to provide users with similar operational consistency of the iR-ADV platform and are suitable for businesses looking for a flexible solution that allows for fleet cohesiveness with larger A3 iR-ADV systems in a networked environment.

With fast print speeds of 40 and 50 ppm respectively, the iR-ADV 400i and 500i also features Canon's UFRII, Adobe Postscript 3 (PS3) and PCL5e/6 as a standard option that fits different print environment. These models consist of a new 7-inch WVGA tilt-able control panel offering the same user-friendly functionality as the iR-ADV A3 devices. The most compact iR-ADV MFDs in Canon's lineup, the A4 monochrome models only require an installation space of 560mm (width) by 567mm (depth), perfect for a variety of office environments and retail area.

Enhanced Usability and Design for Ultimate User Convenience

By taking full advantage of the compact iR-ADV models capabilities and deploying them optimally with larger A3 devices in a fleet environment, businesses can enjoy improved user workflow, greater employee productivity, and reduced wastage while achieving higher cost savings.

To help expedite the printing process, the iR-ADV 400i and 500i feature time-saving features such as the Quick Startup Mode which requires less than ten seconds for the copy function to be operational. In addition, the control panel will display the waiting time for current print jobs, allowing users to plan and execute their tasks more efficiently and effectively. Being compatible with Canon mobile printing, users are able to print anywhere through the application from their smartphones or tablets which will help improve workflow productivity.

"Corporate workgroups looking for a full-featured and consistent addition to their enterprise fleet will benefit from the on-demand scalability of the print and cloud features of the iR-ADV 400i and 500i," said Von Chan, Director & General Manager, Business Imaging Solutions Division, Canon Singapore. "Easy to manage and deploy, the new models provide businesses of all sizes additional functionality and control with managed document services support and refined software solutions that allow administrators to implement advanced workflow and managed services tools across the company's print fleet effortlessly."

Enhanced cost control & security

The new models also provide scalable security capabilities to address the concerns of any organization; from standard features such as smart user authentication and function-level control to sophisticated options such as Data Loss Prevention (DLP). Canon's unique Universal Login Manager (ULM) provides smaller organisations with enterprise level reporting and access control - all without the need for a server. ULM provides full visibility of usage and costs by user as well as the option to apply user-level restrictions for enhanced security and cost control. More demanding environments can access centralized and complete output management and control through Canon's uniFLOW platform which offers advanced functions such as DLP and rule-based routing.

Advanced Connectivity and Management

Equipped with the Canon Multifunctional Embedded Application Platform (MEAP), the devices can be seamlessly integrated into larger printing installations involving other high-end A3 devices from the iR-ADV product line for a more balanced imaging and output deployment. Additionally, direct cloud connectivity supports Google Docs as well as other cloud storage such as Microsoft 365, Evernote and Salesforce.com. Other solutions include the server-less accounting and secure print solution, Universal Login Manager (ULM) and the server-based output management, uniFLOW.

Energy-saving, Environmentally-Friendly Features

Energy conservation has never been easier for companies with the iR-ADV 400i and 500i models which have amongst the lowest Typical Energy Consumption (TEC) ratings in the industry. The models feature built-in timers that allow administrators to program daily and weekly shutdowns, ensuring maximum conservation of energy when not in use. The MFDs are also Energy Star-qualified and consume less than 1W of energy when in Sleep Mode along with maintaining a standby electricity use of less than 0.5W.
