Masoud Mardani, a lecturer of the university said that given its social, economic, cultural and psychological implications, the disease has turned into a major health and treatment concern in the world and consequently in Iran.
He further noted that the event will seek to acquaint physicians with the latest findings about the disease.
The congress will also help raise the awareness about ways the disease spreads as well as the methods to seriously counter the social challenge facing the society, Mardani said.
Topics for discussion in the event include new findings on AIDS in Iran and world, ways of preventng and treating the disease and psychological health in patients infected with the disease, he said.
