Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Chairperson of president-elect Joko "Jokowi" Widodos government transition team Rini Sumarno is scheduled to meet Vice President Boediono here on Tuesday to discuss public welfare issues.

"We are scheduled to meet the vice president tomorrow. We will talk about public welfare," Rini Sumarno said here on Monday.

Vice President Boediono has led a special team that deals with public welfare. Therefore, the transition team wanted to meet him to find out about the programs that have been carried out so far, she said.

The transition team is also hoping to meet a number of the current cabinet ministers.

She said her team has sent a letter to Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Chairul Tanjung, requesting a meeting to discuss future economic programs.

President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono has assigned three ministers to help the process of transition from the current government to the next one to be led by Jokowi. The three ministers are the coordinating minister for economic affairs, the coordinating minister for political, legal and security affairs and the minister/state secretary.

In early August, Yudhoyono had stated that he and his cabinet ministers were willing to support the process of forming the next government once the Constitutional Court (MK) gave its verdict with regard to presidential candidate Prabowo Subiantos lawsuit and confirmed the winner of the presidential election held on July 9, 2014.

The first official meeting between president-elect Jokowi and President Yudhoyono finally took place in Nusa Dua, Bali, on August 27, 2014.

In a televised press statement following the meeting, President Yudhoyono asserted his moral obligation to assist President-elect Jokowi who will lead the new government in the 2014-2019 period.

He remarked that the consultation process, as a new tradition, should be carried out in an era of democracy in Indonesia for the good of the nation.

Yudhoyono said they had discussed some important issues regarding state and government affairs that need to be tackled before the end of 2014 and at the beginning of 2015.
