They held a closed-door meeting in Prabowos residence located at Kertanegara Street IV, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta.
This was the first meeting since the presidential election on July 9, 2014, which was won by Jokowi and his running mate, M. Jusuf Kalla, who secured more than 53 percent of the votes nationally and defeated rival candidate pair Prabowo Subianto and Hatta Rajasa who garnered less than 47 percent of the votes.
Speaker of the Peoples Consultative Assembly (MPR) Zulkifli Hasan was also scheduled to meet Prabowo on Friday to extend an invitation for the presidential inauguration ceremony to be held on October 20, 2014.
Hasan earlier expressed hope that Prabowo would attend the inauguration of Jokowi as the countys seventh president.
"Mr Prabowo is a statesman. I am sure he will be present during the inauguration," he added.(*
