"We were discussing ways to strengthen bilateral ties between Indonesia and Germany," Germanys Foreign Affairs Minister Steinmeier noted after the Monday meeting.
During his visit to Jakarta, Steinmeier was accompanied by delegates from Germanys parliament and representatives handling economic and cultural issues.
According to Steinmeier, Germany was keen to assist Indonesia in developing its maritime sector, which is in line with President Joko Widodos agenda. Steinmeier and his delegates had even visited the Sunda Kelapa and Tanjung Priok ports in Jakarta to oversee the existing infrastructure.
Steinmeier arrived in Jakarta, on Saturday, (Nov. 1) night and is expected to leave Indonesia on Monday, (Nov. 3) night.
