"We are certain that President Jokowi will be present on Friday to attend the 10th commemoration and reflection of the tsunami that swept several parts of Aceh province on December 26, 2004," Aceh Governor Zaini Abdullah remarked here on Monday.
The governor noted that representatives from 35 countries and numerous national and international non-governmental organizations will also be present to observe and reflect the 10th year of the tsunami.
Abdullah explained that the organizing committee has distributed five thousand invitations.
The Aceh-Nias Reconstruction and Rehabilitation Board stated that the earthquake, measuring 8.9 on the Richter scale that triggered a massive tsunami, had claimed at least 126,741 lives and 93,285 went missing.
