"The construction plans has been prepared, and we are awaiting an approval from three local governments in the region," Director of Operations Waskita Arryani Dessi stated here on Friday.
The three local governments of East Kalimantan Province, Balikpapan Municipality, and North Paser Regency are involved in this project.
According to Dessi, the construction costs are being funded by equity of each local government and Waskita, instead of using the state budget.
"The bridge is considered to be one of the infrastructure projects to be built in order to develop the regions economy," Dessi remarked.
She explained that the construction of the bridge will be completed in around three years.
The piling work for the construction of the bridge was carried out in November 2014.
If the construction plans are to be executed right away, the bridge will become officially operational by the end of 2017, Dessi remarked.
In 2015, Waskita is focusing on projects worth around Rp20 trillion, with an average of Rp100 billion per project.
The company is also targeting Rp10.4 trillion in revenue, with about Rp501.6 billion in net profit.
