"The president has signed the laws on the election of regional heads and leaders, namely Law No.1 and Law No.2, respectively," Pratikno affirmed after a hearing with the parliament here on Monday.
The state secretary did not disclose details on the number of the laws on the elections of the governors, district heads, and mayors, and on the regional administration.
However, he noted that the two regulations had been signed by the president, given a serial number, and included in the state gazette. They will soon be submitted to the House of Representatives (DPR).
"I will check it (the serial numbers of the laws) first. I am sure that they have been signed, given serial numbers, and included in the state gazette," Pratikno added.
The two laws have been submitted to the Ministry of Law and Human Rights. Its work is expected to be completed by Monday evening, or by Tuesday morning at the latest.
"The president has yet to respond to the revision of the Law on Regional Head Elections. He has only signed it and is still waiting for further procedures in the Ministry of Law and Human Rights to be completed," he stated.
Pratikno explained that the governments response to the revision will follow the results of the processes to be covered by Commission II of the DPR.
After being processed by the commission, it will be handed over to the president to be assessed before he issues his mandate on the subject, he pointed out.(*)
