Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Bank Indonesia (BI) decided on Tuesday to keep its benchmark interest rate known as BI Rate unchanged at 7.5 percent, with deposit facility and lending facility rates remaining at 5.5 percent and 8 percent respectively.

"The decision is relevant to the effort to achieve the inflation rate target of 4, plus and minus 1 percent in 2015 and 2016 and direct the current account deficit to a healthier level of 2.5 to 3 percent of the gross domestic product in the medium term," executive director of the BI communication department Tirta Segara said in a press conference here on Tuesday.
