According to the vice presidential official website www.wapresri.go.id, Kalla has presented infrastructure projects such as the Cilamaya port and the development of a high-speed train network on Java island to the Japanese prime minister.
"We plan to develop a high-speed train network to connect Jakarta and Surabaya, and thus, we certainly offer the project to Japan," Kalla told his colleague, Japan Prime Minister Abe during their meeting at Imperial Hotel in Tokyo on Thursday.
On the occasion, Kalla also explained about moving the location of the construction of Cilamaya port about 20 kilometers to the east from its original position.
The Indonesian vice president also lauded the role that Japan has played so far in supporting development in Indonesia over the years.
"Furthermore, Japan strongly supports the development priorities of the government of President Joko Widodo and Vice President Jusuf Kalla," he remarked.
In the meantime, Abe noted that Japan will continue to step up bilateral relations with Indonesia.
"I highly laud the role being played by the Indonesian vice president in improving bilateral relations between the two countries," Abe stated, adding that Japan will continue to participate in the development in Indonesia.
The Japanese prime minister also expressed his intentions to help develop a port at Jakarta metropolitan city and a high-speed train network to connect Jakarta and Bandung.
