Riyadh (ANTARA News/Xinhua-OANA) - Thirteen were killed and nine others injured on Thursday in a suicide blast targeting a mosque in the south of Saudi Arabia, Saudi Press Agency confirmed.

Ten of the dead were policemen and three were workers in the mosque in the city of Abha, where they were performing afternoon prayer. Three of the injured are in critical condition, Saudi Interior Ministry spokesperson said in a statement.

Initial investigation indicated that the blast was caused by explosive belts.

Saudi Interior Ministry announced in July that its intelligences have succeeded in foiling four mosque attacks in Ramadan and arrested 431 IS members.(*)
