According to reports received from the Tuban Police on Tuesday, the Widang Bridge, with its west and east sections, is located across Bengawan Solo.
The west section of the bridge collapsed at around 11:05 p.m. local time, owing to which a dumper truck, two wing-box trucks, and a motorcycle plunged into the river, while the east section faced no problems.
Moreover, the report states that two truckers had died after being trapped in a truck.
Earlier, Head of the Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency of Lamongan Suprapto revealed he had ordered his five personnel to visit the location to evacuate the victims of the bridge collapse incident.
Suprapto received the initial news from social media and immediately headed to evacuate the victims.
In 2017, the Widang Bridge had been experiencing a shift as deep as 15 centimeters.
