Jakarta (ANTARA) - Creative Economy Minister Teuku Riefky Harsya has stressed that the Indonesian National Police (Polri) can play a crucial role in supporting the growth of creative businesses by ensuring public safety and security.
“Polri must be able to carry out duties responsibly, uphold justice with integrity, and foster harmony in public spaces, including those associated with the creative economy,” he said at the 2025 Bhayangkara Day event in Central Jakarta, according to a press release issued here on Wednesday.
The event, which was held to commemorate Polri’s 79th anniversary, took place at the National Monument (Monas) square in Central Jakarta on Tuesday.
According to Harsya, the police can support national economic recovery by performing their core task of maintaining public order and security.
He added that the Creative Economy Ministry is open to partnering with other state institutions to support activities that promote creative industries.
In this context, the minister encouraged the Polri to contribute to the creative economy by helping ease the issuance of security permits for such events.
“This way, Polri can build public trust and shape its image as an innovative and responsive institution. Happy Birthday to the Indonesian National Police,” he added.
The 79th Bhayangkara Day event held on Tuesday was themed “Polri for the People,” highlighting the importance of police-public collaboration in building a safe and comfortable society.
President Prabowo Subianto, who served as the inspector of the ceremony, praised Polri’s essential role in supporting national development efforts.
He also called on the police to maintain public trust through dedication and sincere care for people in need.
“Please maintain the public’s trust. I repeat, you must always prioritize the common good above all else. I again warn you against letting the people down,” he told officers.
The commemorative event also featured art performances and a parade showcasing 25 police robots of various forms. Attending residents were also offered free administrative and health services.
