Jakarta (ANTARA) - The theme for Indonesia’s 80th Independence Day celebrations—"United and Sovereign, Prosperous People, and Advanced Indonesia"—seeks to capture the shared goals and aspirations of national leaders and the people, according to the Presidential Communications Office (PCO).
In a statement issued in Jakarta on Thursday, deputy for dissemination and information media at the PCO, Noudhy Valdryno, said that the words “United and Sovereign” reflect the nation’s commitment to safeguarding harmony and promoting collaboration in everyday life.
Meanwhile, the words “Prosperous People” point to President Prabowo Subianto’s steadfast commitment to raising living standards across the country through a range of strategic initiatives, most notably the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) and Sekolah Rakyat (People’s School) programs.
Valdryno said that the government has introduced eight primary missions, 17 priority programs, and eight quick-win programs to serve the interests of the people.
“The MBG program guarantees that our children have access to proper meals that meet their nutritional needs. Moreover, the government has launched Sekolah Rakyat to support children struggling to access education,” he added.

He then elaborated on “Advanced Indonesia,” saying the words are meant to convey Indonesia’s dream and ambition to emerge as a developed country with a stronger standing on the global stage.
“Our people can directly feel the nation’s progress, which is manifested in opportunities for growth, equal access to education, and pride in being part of Indonesia,” he emphasized.
Regarding the logo for the national day — featuring the number 80 in red and white — Valdryno said that it symbolizes national unity and sovereignty, the people’s collective efforts to build a prosperous nation, and cohesion for continued progress.
“This symbol reflects prayers for all elements of the country to push for continued progress nationwide,” he explained.
He added that President Prabowo chose the logo himself from designs submitted to a competition organized by the Ministry of State Secretariat, the Creative Economy Industry, and the Indonesian Graphic Designer Association (ADGI).
“This logo, designed by Bram Patria Yoshugi, emerged as the best among 245 entries,” he said.
Both the theme and the logo were announced by the President at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Wednesday.
