"It (the invitation) is not ethical. Let us ignore it. How can the vice president debate with his coordinating minister? It is adequate for us to summon him and explain the project to him," Kalla stated.
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Vice President Jusuf Kalla believes that Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Rizal Ramlis invitation to hold a debate on the construction of power plants, with a combined capacity of 35 thousand megawatts (MW), is unethical.

"It (the invitation) is not ethical. Let us ignore it. How can the vice president debate with his coordinating minister? It is adequate for us to summon him and explain the project to him," Kalla stated here on Wednesday.

Kalla said he and President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) would summon Ramli, who was appointed to the post of coordinating minister for maritime affairs only last week to replace Indroyono Soesilo.

Ramli earlier stated that the government would find it difficult to achieve its target of completing the construction of power plants, with a total capacity of 35 thousand MW in 2019.

The former coordinating minister for economic affairs during President Abdurrahman Wahids government said he would urge Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Sudirman Said and the National Energy Council to evaluate the program launched by President Jokowi.

Ramli also called for cancelling the national flag carrier Garuda Indonesias plan to buy Airbus A350s aircraft.

He admitted to have met President Jokowi to discuss the cancellation of Garuda Indonesias plan to procure new A350s aircraft to be financed by the China Aviation Bank.(*)
