"The vice president incidentally is on his overseas working visit so he cannot close the 9th National Congress of the MUI," Achmad said here on Wednesday.
The MUI deputy secretary general said he had yet to receive a copy from state protocol related to who would be sent to represent the vice president to close the MUI congress which is first held outside Jakarta.
"Until this evening there has been no notification, so the tentative conclusion is that there is no representative. The committee is still waiting for further developments," he said.
The Ninth MUI National Congress is held from August 24 to 27, 2015 with the main agenda is to select its general chairman and board for the next five-year period.
