The number of Indonesian Hajj pilgrims who have not returned to their hostels increased from 78 to 79, Nur Alia Fitra, the secretary of the Indonesian Hajj Pilgrimage Organizing Committee for Mecca region, noted here on Thursday.
The four injured Indonesian Hajj pilgrims are still undergoing treatment at a Saudi hospital.
Of the total 59 Indonesian Hajj pilgrims who were killed in the stampede, four were Indonesians who had resettled in Saudi Arabia.
This year, the Indonesian government had sent as many as 168,800 Hajj pilgrims to the Muslim holy lands of Mecca and Madinah.
In the meantime, Al Jazeera reported recently that at least 717 people have been killed in a stampede at the annual Hajj pilgrimage, Saudi Arabias civil defence directorate affirmed, as the death toll continues to rise.
The directorate stated that at least 863 other pilgrims were injured in Thursdays stampede, which took place in Mina, on the outskirts of the holy city of Mecca.
The injured have been evacuated to four different hospitals in the Mina region, according to a civil defence spokesman.(*)
