Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Parliament special committee probing alleged corruption in the state port operator Pelindo II has summoned Minister For State Enterprise Rini Soemarno for questioning on Wednesday

"Minister Rini Soemarno, has confirmed she would come to honor the summon on Wednesday," Committee chairperson Rieke Diah Pitaloka, said here on Tuesday.

Rieke said the questioning will be held in a open meeting.

The politician of the ruling party, Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) said the Committee has also summoned Attorney General M. Prasetyo for questioning on Monday but he failed to appear.

"At 9.00 this morning Prasetyo told us that he would come at 10.00 today, but it is impossible to prepare a meeting in an hour with committee members from various factions.

"We then asked him to come in the afternoon," she added.

She said the Committee has only 60 days to wrap up its probing including summoning for questioning informants and collecting documents, before calling meetings to discuss all inputs and documents.

In the process the Committee has summoned and questioned former police s chief detective police Comr. Gen. Budi Waseso, former director of special economic crime case Brig. Gen. Victor Edison Simanjuntak, and polices chief detective Comr. Gen. Anang Iskandar.

In two week the Committee has succeeded in collecting many documents and data, Rieke said.

The Parliament formed the Committee after Budi Waseso was moved from his position as head of the polices Criminal Detective Agency (Bareskrim). The replacement of Budi Waseso with Anang Iskandar was seen by many as a result of his order to raid the head office of Pelindo II, and launched investigation of alleged corruption in the state company.(*)
