"We are happy for a chance to hold discussions with Vice President Jusuf Kalla about the challenges and opportunities for Indonesia continuing its cooperation with the World Bank," World Bank Executive Director for Germany, Ursula Mueller, said at the Vice Presidential Palace here.
During the meeting, Ursula was accompanied by a number of World Bank officials, including World Bank Executive Director for the United States, Matthew, World Bank Executive Director for Venezuela, Jose Rojas, and World Bank Executive Director for South Korea and Australia, Sung Soo-Eun.
Earlier, Ursula had met with Indonesian Finance Minister, Bambang Brodjonegoro and National Development Planning Minister, Sofyan Djalil to offer support for Indonesia.
"Indonesia is an important stakeholder for the World Bank Group. This countrys experience in alleviating poverty has set a good example for the world," Ursula said.
According to her, Indonesia has halved its poverty rate in the past decade.
"Our partnership has been going on for six decades now and we highly hope for continued partnership with Indonesia in the years to come," she said.
