"The BPBD has monitored the districts with either its personnel visiting them or coordinating with the district disaster mitigation boards," chief of the BPBDs preparedness and prevention section, Hariadi, said here on Monday.
The BPBD has prepared anticipatory steps to mitigate the impact of landslides by building evacuation routes and making arrangements for disaster response equipment in each district and municipality in the province, he said.
"Of course, during the rainy season, we are prepared for any eventuality," he said.
West Java Governor Ahmad Heryawan (Aher) had earlier declared an alert 1 status, particularly for landslides and floods, this year.
"The alert 1 status is based on the fact that landslides are an annual happening in West Java," he said.(*)
