Speaking at the Indonesian Palm Oil Conference (IPOC) here on Thursday, the vice president remarked that palm oil is one of the major sources of oil and fat in the world.
"The palm oil industry is valuable and precious as it is one of the largest sources of oil and fat in the world," the vice president affirmed.
According to Kalla, Indonesia is the worlds largest palm oil producer.
"The palm oil sector provides income and is the second-largest source of livelihood for the people next only to rice production, and therefore, it is very important for the nations economy and the peoples income," he remarked.
The vice president further added that the ups and downs as well as the success of the palm oil industry have had a significant influence on the society and the nations income.(*)
