Denpasar (ANTARA News) - Denpasars Ngurah Rai International Airport in the Indonesian island resort of Bali served 2,283 wide-bodied aircraft destined for foreign countries in October 2015, according to Balis Central Statistics Agency (BPS) Chief Panusunan Siregar.

"The number of wide-bodied aircraft departing from Ngurah Rai International Airport to foreign countries in October rose 3.12 percent from 2,214 aircraft in September 2015," Siregar stated here on Monday.

He remarked that the number of passengers transported by the aircraft also increased 7.65 percent from 381,210 in September to 410,377 in October.

He noted that the amount of baggage being carried also increased by 11.21 percent, from 6,094 tons in September to 6,777 tons in October.

Siregar said Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, and Hong Kong were the main destination countries for the flights from Denpasar, Bali.

Siregar explained that the aircraft transported foreign tourists who had spent their holidays in the island of paradise.

In October 2015, Bali received 369,447 foreign tourists, an increase of 8.14 percent compared to the corresponding period in 2014, or 5.04 percent more than that recorded in September 2015.
