Jakarta, March 6 (Antara) - Jakarta Police Chief Inspector General Tito Karnavian has asked inhabitants of Jakarta to carry out activities as usual during the fifth Extraordinary Summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on Palestine and Al Quds Al Sharif here on March 6-7, 2016.

"Show to the world that Jakarta is safe," said Police Chief Karnavian here Sunday.

The Jakarta Police have deployed 4,356 police officers including 600 the Police Headquarter Mobile Brigade officers to secure the summit.

Karnavian said security measures to guard the meeting have been tightened in every vital object.

During the event, Jakartas Car Free Day (CFD) Program on the capitals main road is still allowed by the Jakarta Police with security details.

Car Free Day is the citys weekly program to close the main road starting from 06.00 am to 12.00 am for people who want to conduct sporting activities such as cycling and jogging.

Karnavian called on the Jakarta people to support the implementation of the OIC Summit.

He urged the people to not stage any rally during the Summit.
