Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The National Polices Traffic Corps (Korlantas) has ordered each provincial police traffic directorate (Ditlantas) to deploy at least two-thirds of its traffic police officers to secure the movement of vehicles during the long Easter weekend.
"The traffic arrangements ahead of the long weekend are being made across Indonesia by deploying at least two-thirds of the total personnel in each region," Deputy Chief of the National Polices Traffic Corps Brigadier General Indrajit stated here on Thursday.
The police will focus on traffic arrangements at the exit gates of toll roads including the Jakarta-Cikampek and Purbaleunyi toll roads, he noted.
Meanwhile, contraflow strategy will be applied at several congestion-prone points along the Jakarta-Cikampek and Purbaleunyi toll roads to anticipate bottlenecks, he remarked.
"We also have prepared a contraflow strategy to anticipate congestions on the toll roads," he affirmed.
On Thursday, the rank and file of the National Polices Traffic Corps and several state agencies, including accident insurance company PT Jasa Raharja, state highway operator Jasa Marga, Transportation Offices, and the Indonesian military held a roll call ahead of the long Easter weekend.
The roll call was the second of its kind held since early this year to anticipate traffic congestion during the long weekend.(*)
