Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Eight new investment projects worth Rp1.45 trillion used the new easy investment service, called "KLIK," between May 30 and June 3, 2016, according to the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM).

The projects occupying a total land area of 21.6 hectares and located in two industrial zones participated in the KLIK scheme, BKPM Chairman Franky Sibarani said in a press release here on Monday.

"The BKPM is monitoring the projects using KLIK services to ensure that the objective of facilitating expeditious realization of these projects could be achieved," he said.

With these additional eight projects, a total of 40 investment projects worth Rp57.08 trillion and spread on 618.64 hectares of land, have used the KLIK services so far.

Of the 40 projects, 17 are under construction now in eight industrial zones, with total investments worth Rp9.19 trillion on 215 hectares of land.

The remaining 23 projects are in the preparation stage of their construction work in five industrial zones, with total investment worth Rp47.89 trillion, and occupying 403.64 hectares of land.

KLIK is a new mechanism that allows investors to begin construction even as the application process for building permits (IMB), environmental licenses and other regional licenses is still underway.

The KLIK scheme was officially launched on February 22 as part of the third package of reforms issued by the Joko Widodo (Jokowi) administration within 15 months of assuming executive power.

The simplified investment services are applicable to 14 industrial zones, covering 10,022 hectares of the total 17,154 hectares of industrial zone areas, located in nine districts and cities in six Indonesian provinces, namely Central Java, East Java, South Sulawesi, Banten, West Java and North Sumatra.

KLIK will help meet the national investment target of Rp594.8 trillion.

The KLIK services are applied in three industrial zones covering 840 hectares in Central Java; one industrial zone set up on 1,761 hectares in East Java; one industrial zone on 3 thousand hectares in South Sulawesi; three industrial zones on 3,170 hectares in Banten; five industrial zones on 1,111 hectares in West Java; and one industrial zone on 100 hectares in North Sumatra.(*)
