I have just visited a number of areas in eastern Indonesia and see that the fish quality is good in that region."
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Marine and Fisheries Minister Susi Pudjisatuti pledged modernization of marine and fishery facilities and infrastructure in Eastern Indonesia.

"I have just visited a number of areas in Eastern Indonesia and see that the fish quality is good in that region," the minister said here on Monday.

She said among the plans is to build fish feed factory in Lembata, East Nusa Tenggara, and improve marine and fishery logistics.

She said fishermen are still facing logistic problem and difficulty in market access.

She said the Indonesian people need to increase fish consumption as fish is relatively cheap compared with meat such as beef.

In Lembata she heard fishermen complaining about limited fishing boats and fishing gears as well as fuel for fishing boats.
