Jakarta (ANTARA News) - AirAsia Indonesia is preparing wide-bodied aircraft to serve the 2016 Idul Fitri holiday travelers, locally known as "pemudik," according to its Commercial Director Andy Adrian.

Adrian remarked here on Thursday that the wide-bodied aircraft will be used to serve the Jakarta-Denpasar route, with additional flights during the period between a week before and after the Idul Fitri festivities.

"We have approved a proposal for an additional flight, and we will increase the capacity from 180 to 377 passengers on the Jakarta-Denpasar route," Adrian revealed.

According to Adrian, AirAsia chose the Jakarta-Denpasar route as the flight occupancy rate was approximately 100 percent.

He added that AirAsia operated eight daily flights on the Jakarta-Denpasar route, and the additional flight will use a wide-bodied aircraft, such as an Airbus 330.(*)
