"We spoke about terrorism, corruption, and drugs. We further discussed ways to tackle terrorism and also conveyed that the House is open to any inputs for the Counter Terrorism Act," Komarudin stated here on Thursday.
The speaker also explained that the presence of hardliners and moderates in Indonesia had raised various pros and cons in preparing the revised Law on Terrorism.
The House of Representatives had received inputs from various parties, including the hardliners and moderates, for the revision of the Terrorism Act.
"It is not easy, but it will be completed, so that the process can be finished in October. The sooner we vote, the better it is but without disregarding the content," he affirmed.
The speaker noted that the US ambassadors visit to the House was a farewell gesture as Blakes assignment in Indonesia was complete, and his successor would take charge in September 2016.
Komarudin also lauded Ambassador Blake as he frequently visited several places in Indonesia.
"He is an ambassador, who was friendly with many groups in Indonesia and often provided an understanding of the religious and ethnic pluralism in Indonesia," Komarudin remarked.
In addition Komarudin assessed that Ambassador Blake was capable of reinforcing Indonesia-US relations.
The Parliament is grateful for his role in fostering sound relations between both nations, added Komarudin.(*)
