The certificates were handed over by Akhmad Lotfi bin Zubir, Deputy Director of Private Education, to each of the CLC managements on Saturday (October 22) in Ladang Tiga, Miri.
Prof. Ari Purbayanto, Attache of Education and Culture of the Indonesian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, said here on Monday that the handover ceremony was attended by Jahar Gultom, the Indonesian Consul General in Kuching; Dedi Karyana, Head of International Facility at the Indonesian Educational Ministry; General Manager of Sarawak Plantation Bhd.; CLC managers as well as local teachers.
"Eight of the 16 CLCs in Sarawak have been acknowledged," Ari said.
They are CLC Ladang Tiga (Sarawak Plantation), CLC Ladang Mutiara (Tradewins), CLC Rajawali Derawan (Sime Darby), CLC Lavang Special (Sime Darby), CLC Pekaka (Sime Darby), CLC Galasah (Sarawak Palm Oil Bhd.), CLC Lambir (Sarawak Oil Palm Bhd.) and CLC Telabit (Sarawak Oil Palm Bhd.).
CLC accommodates the educational needs of Indonesian migrant workers children, who are working in Malaysian companies, such as palm oil companies.
Ari appreciated the Malaysian Ministry of Education for approving the eight Indonesian CLCs in Sarawak.
"It is a commitment for the implementation of world agreement of Education for all and a legal protection by the Malaysian government to provide basic education for the Indonesian children in Sarawak," Ari noted.
He said the certificate is a real support from the Sarawak state administration, which has been delivered by Datuk Fatimah, Women Development and Family Virtue Minister, for the educational program of Indonesian children in the state.(*)
