I wish to assure everyone that everything is fine."
Banda Aceh (ANTARA News) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) left Banda Aceh, the capital city of Aceh Province, on Friday after visiting several regions to inspect the impact of the earthquake that struck the area early on Wednesday morning (Dec. 7, 2016).

President Jokowi and his entourage left from the Iskandar Muda air force base in Banda Aceh after arriving by helicopter from Bireun.

He took off aboard the Airforce One RI-1 at around 2.30 p.m. after inspecting the handling of the disaster response in the Pidie, Pidie Jaya, and Bireun districts, which were the worst hit areas.

While in Bireun, he took the opportunity to conduct Friday prayers in the local Samalanga grand mosque, and while there, he told the people to be patient and strong in dealing with the disaster.

"I have visited Pidie, Pidie Jaya, and Bireun---especially Samalanga District. I wish to assure everyone that everything is fine," he said.

He pledged to immediately rebuild the three districts.
