He said the Jakarta Metropolitan Police Command will assure the security of those attending the trial and those involved in the trial so that they will feel comfortable when giving explanation at the court.
He said security measure would also be taken at the access to and from the venue, adding the police would station personnel at several points such as the shopping complex to assure smooth flow of traffic.
Security measure will also be taken with regard to the process of court session, he said.
"We will secure the process from the opening, the session, the conclusion and the return (of attendees)," he said.
Argo Yuwono said he could not as tell how many police personnel would be deployed to secure the trial.
Ahok as he is also called, will be tried at the Central Jakarta district court located on Jalan Gajah Mada in the downtown over his controversial remarks he made during a meeting with people in the district of Kepulauan Seribu in North Jakarta in which he quoted a Quran verse considered as blasphemous.
Ahok is one of the participants of Jakarta gubernatorial election to be held in February next year.
