"Yes, we frequently acquaint the people with Pancasila and integrity of the nation, but now, we have to go down the mountain to defend and maintain them," Soekarnoputri remarked.
Bandung, W Java (ANTARA News) - Sukmawati Soekarnoputri and Toto Suryawan Soekanoputra, the daughter and son of first President Soekarno, have expressed readiness to walk down the path to defend and maintain the Pancasila state ideology and the nations integrity.

"Yes, we frequently acquaint the people with Pancasila and integrity of the nation, but now, we have to go down the mountain to defend and maintain them," Soekarnoputri remarked on the sidelines of a peaceful rally held here on Thursday.

The rally, which took place in front of the Gedung Sate building, was organized by numerous non-governmental and mass organizations.

Soekarnoputri pointed out that even in the midst of differences, Indonesians, by and large, had mutual respect for one another, and thus, they could not be easily influenced.

Soekarnoputri said she had attended the rally to demonstrate her support for the West Java residents who by no means want any desecration of Pancasila.

In the meantime, Soekarnoputra stated that during the rally, the demonstrators wanted to prove that Pancasila can still be emulated by other nations and will continue to serve as a force to unite the country.

"In addition, the principles of Service to God, Mankind, and Freedom have been passed down to us, the Bung Karno families, by our forefathers," Soekarnoputra added.(*)
