Surabaya (ANTARA News) - Women team Mutiara Cardinal Bandung emerged as the champion of Djarum Superliga Badminton Championship 2017 after winning the final round here on Saturday.

Appearing for the first time in the final round after participating in the tournament for about 10 times since 2007, Mutiara defeated Berkat Abadi 3-0 before emerging as the champion.

Mutiaras Hanna Ramadini recorded the first victory for her team beating Zhang Beiwen, a Chinese national team player, 21-15, 21-10 in the singles event.

Yulfira Barkah/Tiara Rosalia Nuraidah contributed the second win after defeating Berkat Abadis senior players Rizki Amelia Pradipta/Greysia Polii 21-15, 21-14.

Mutiaras champion title was confirmed by Gregoria Mariska Tunjung who successfully overpowered Hong Kong player Yip Pui Yin 21-18, 21-18.

Hokuto Bank team from Japan finished third after defeating Masters 3-2.

Hokutos victory was determined by Matsumoto Mayu/Nagahara Wakana, after the pair defeated Tjakrindos duo Ni Ketut Mahadewi Istarini/Meirisa Cindy Sahputri 21-11, 21-12.

Nagata Rei beat Aprilia Yuswandari 21-9, 21-19, while Nakamura Yuri won over Yasuda Miku 21-12, 21-14.

The victories for Tjakrindo were contributed by Fitriani who was able to defeat Kawakami Saena 21-14, 21-9; and Miki Kashihara/Miyuki Kato who were able to beat Uratani Natsumi/Murayama Yumi 22-20, 20-22, 21-13.
