Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Indonesian government is committed to strengthening economic partnership with Iran as is reflected by the visit of Indonesias Chief Economic Minister Darmin Nasution along with his entourage on February 26-27, 2017.

The office of the chief economic minister noted in a press statement received by Antara here on Sunday that Nasutions visit was a follow-up to President Joko Widodos (Jokowis) tour of the country in mid-December 2016.

Nasutions delegation comprised the deputy minister for energy and mineral resources, the Indonesian ambassador to Iran, several high-ranking Indonesian officials from relevant ministries and state institutions, as well as executives of state-owned companies.

The Indonesian delegation paid a courtesy call on Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and Vice President for Sciences Sorena Sattari. It also held a bilateral meeting with the governor of the Iranian Central Bank, the oil minister, and the information and communication technology minister.

According to the chief economic ministers office, the meetings discussed various issues of mutual concern in the fields of energy cooperation, trade, investment, finance, banking, sciences, technology, agriculture, and tourism as well as encouraged the active participation of businesses of both countries.
