The five airports are the Sentani International Airport, Juwata International Airport in Tarakan, Mutiara Airport SIS Al-Jufrie Palu, Raden Inten II Airport in Lampung, and H.A.S Hananjoeddin Airport in Belitung.
"Some airports holding the BLU status that are ready to cooperate with AP are in Sentani, Tarakan, Palu, Lampung, and Belitung," the ministrys Director General of Air Transportation Agus Santoso stated here, Friday.
Santoso remarked that PT AP I will operate airports in the central and eastern parts of Indonesia, including in Sentani and Tarakan, while PT AP II will manage airports in western Indonesia, including in Palu, Lampung, and Belitung.
"Companies in Indonesia that have the airport business entity status can operate an airport. This is the requirement," Santoso noted.
The five airports will be managed under the joint operation scheme with PT AP.(*)
