Jakarta, Mar 17 (Antara) - The Indonesian Embassy in Beirut, Lebanon, has conducted a funeral prayer, or Ghaib prayer, for KH. Hasyim Muzadi at the embassy on Thursday, Indonesian Ambassador to Lebanon Chozin Chumaidy said in a short statement received by Antara here on Friday.

Upon hearing the news that Hasyim Muzadi passed away on Thursday morning, the Indonesian Ambassador and the embassy staff members conducted a funeral prayer, Chozin Chumaidy said.

"May all his good deeds be received by the Almighty Allah, and may he is forgiven for all sins and guilt," the Ambassador said.

According to Ambassador Chumaidy, he is very close to Muzadi, who in July 2016 visited Lebanon to be a speaker at a seminar and preacher, and led Friday prayer at a mosque in Tripoli University Lebanon.

He added, the Muslim leader from the biggest Islam organization in the country of NU (Nahdlatul Ulama) delivered his speech that thrilled the audiences.

"Hasyims speech has spread in social media, then it is believed to be a statement of the great figures of NU that has been eagerly awaited by Muslims in Indonesia during this time," the Ambassador said.

The speech was also rated as an answer for the Indonesian Muslims after over years have not seen a firmness of the great figures of the NU scholars who show intelligent and strong attitude.

Muzadi, who was born on Aug 8, 1944, passed away at 6.15 a.m. on Thursday after receiving intensive treatment at the Lavalette Hospital and at his residence in Malang, East Java over the past several days.

The funeral ceremony for a former Presidential Advisory Board memer was carried out in military-style involving military troops and police personnel.
