According to a press statement published on the official website of the Foreign Affairs Ministry here on Wednesday, the FFI 2017 is the fifth of its kind since it was held for the first time in 2013.
The FFI is an annual Indonesian awards ceremony honoring cinematic achievements in the film industry, which is organized by Indonesian Film Board.
The festival features the announcement of the Piala Citra winners and presentation of the best Indonesian films of each year.
The Bahrain Authority of Culture and Antiquities will support the implementation of the FFI this year.
The implementation of the FFI aims to promote Indonesian films and introduce them to the people of Bahrain, both in terms of culture, nature, history, and social life of Indonesian society.
Participants who get the opportunity to watch Indonesian films being screened during the FFI 2017 in Bahrain are expected to gain better information and understanding about Indonesia, its people, and the potential of the country.
FFI activities are expected to help improve the positive image of Indonesia in Bahrain. The films to be screened during FFI 2017 are Unforgettable Paradise, Toba Dreams, and Under the Protection of Kaaba, among others.(*)
