The Indonesian Smart Cards (KIP) provided for the elementary and secondary students can be used to purchase various school needs.
"Competition will be more difficult among countries. Therefore we prepare (the students assistance)," the president said when visiting the Gunung Tinggi soccer field, in Batulicin sub-district, Tanah Bumbu District, South Kalimantan on Sunday.
In addition to handing over the KIP, Jokowi gave the supplementary Feeding (PMT), the Family Expectation Program and the Healthy Indonesia Cards (KIS), head of Press, Media and Information Bureau of the Presidential Secretariat, Bey Machmudin said in a statement.
"Those who quit (the school), just take the KIP, resume studying. Our children must go to school to compete with all countries," the president who was accompanied by the First Lady, Iriana Jokowi, hoped.
Additionally, the Tanah Bumbu communities also received assistance such as the PMT and KIS.
On the occasion, the president hoped the recipients of the social assistance cards to make use of the cards well, while asking the officers to provide the best services.
"If any poor services occur, report it to the district heads, the governor, or if necessary to the related minister," the head of state pointed out.(*)
