The DPR has also expressed deep sympathy and grief over the deaths and injuries caused to security officers and citizens owing to the incident.
"I feel a sense of deep sorrow and regret for the casualties caused by the bomb attack, including the police officers who died. Our police officers have always been at the forefront to guard and perform their noble duty to maintain security and ensure comfort to society," Novanto noted in a press statement received here on Thursday.
He said security officers and the public should maintain vigil to counter potential terror threats and prevent the recurrence of similar incidents in future.
"We need to offer full support to security officers while they carry out their duties to safeguard the nations security from all potential threats," he emphasized.
He also invited all elements of society to remain vigilant to the potential threat of terror attacks and called on the people to not panic and be easily provoked.
"We hand over the task of investigating this incident to the police and other relevant agencies. I believe that they will be able to investigate this terror case," he stated.
