Jokowi and his entourage accelerated his work visit to East Java and Central Java to return to Jakarta on Thursday night and arrived at around 8:1.5 pm.
The president held a brief meeting at the holding room of Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base before heading to Kramat Jati Police Hospital.
After about 20 minutes of hearing reports from officials related to the explosion, he went straight to East Jakarta Police Hospital where the victims of the blast were treated.
Exactly around 9 p.m., the president and his entourage arrived at the Kramat Jati Police Hospital.
A number of victims of the explosion were still being treated at the Police Hospital after some of them were previously treated at Jatinegara Premier Hospital, East Jakarta.
The presidents working visit was accelerated following a bomb blast at the Transjakarta bus stop at Kampung Melayu Terminal, East Jakarta, on Wednesday (May 24).
"We have ordered the arrest of the roots, because we know that this is outrageous. The victims included a motorcycle taxi driver, public transportation drivers, sellers of grocery store, and police officers," Jokowi stated at his private residence in Banjarsari District, Surakarta, on Thursday (May 25).
Earlier, the Presidential Palace, through Chief of Staff of the Indonesian President Teten Masduki, expressed condolences to the victims on Wednesday night.
"I was urged to extend the presidents condolences to the victims and their families and ensure that all victims receive good treatment," Masduki stated while visiting several blast victims at the Jatinegara Premier Hospital, Kampung Melayu.
Masduki received a special assignment from Widodo to ensure that the victims receive proper care.
He confirmed that five victims were treated at the Jatinegara Premier Hospital and a police officer had been transferred to the Police Hospital.
"There were five casualties, with four people being treated and one being operated upon. I met Feri, a police officer; Agung, a citizen; and Jihan Azzahra, a college student," he remarked.
Masduki revealed that he conveyed Widodos condolences to all victims undergoing treatment.
He deplored the bomb attack in which the four policemen, who were deployed to escort a torch parade before the Islamic fasting month of Ramadan, became victims.
"Of course, we must condemn the act of terror. This is a real terror incident. Hence, the government, along with the members of society, must fight against it," he emphasized.
Masduki also noted that the president, who is on a work visit to the provinces of East and Central Java, had called on the people to not panic following the incident, since terror is intended to instill a sense of fear among the public. Hence, people in the country should not worry or be fearful.(*)
