"We are Indonesia; we are Pancasila. All of you are Indonesia; all of you are Pancasila. I am Indonesia; I am Pancasila," Jokowi stated.
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has established Presidential Regulation No. 54 of 2017 on Presidential Work Unit for Pancasila Ideology Education as part of a series of activities to commemorate Pancasila Day.

"This new institution will help me and all elements of the nation to strengthen the practice of Pancasila, which is an integral part of economic, social, political, and cultural development," the president said in his remarks during the commemoration ceremony of Pancasila Day at the Pancasila Building here on Thursday.

Jokowi stated that all components of the nation, including the government, Indonesian National Army, Indonesian National Police, and society, should work together to reach the ideals of national development in accordance with Pancasila.

According to the president, some of the nations goals are to make Indonesia a just, prosperous, and dignified country at the international level.

"There is no other choice left for the people of the entire nation but to unite hearts and minds and exert time and efforts for encouraging unity and brotherhood among all. The only one choice we have is to revert back to our identity as a polite and tolerant nation that promotes mutual cooperation," he stated.

Jokowi also called on the public to be wary of all forms of ideology and movements that are against Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution.

The government has also crack down on communism and movements that run counter to the nations ideology in Indonesia, he emphasized.

"Once again, let us maintain peace. We should continue to uphold unity and brotherhood. Let us be polite, respectful, and tolerant. Let us go hand-in-hand. Let us work together for the progress of Indonesia," the president stated.

During his speech, Jokowi congratulated all Indonesian people on the occasion of Pancasila Day.

"We are Indonesia; we are Pancasila. All of you are Indonesia; all of you are Pancasila. I am Indonesia; I am Pancasila," Jokowi stated. (*)
