The head of state is scheduled to arrive in Ankara, Turkey, on Wednesday night to reciprocate the visit of Turkeys President Erdogan to Jakarta in 2015.
During the visit, President Jokowi will enhance cooperation between the two countries in various fields, including economy, strategic industry, and eradication of terrorism.
From Turkey, the Indonesian president will head to Germany to attend the G-20 Summit meeting in Hamburg on July 7-8, 2017.
Head of Media and Information Press Bureau of the Presidential Secretariat Bey Machmudin, in his statement here on Wednesday, said that at the summit, the president will deliver a message that the G20 can be part of the solution to tackling global challenges.
Machmudin remarked that President Jokowi will be the keynote speaker at the session that will discuss ways to face the threat of terrorism.
Related to global economy and finance, President Jokowi will allude to the importance of joint member action in fighting tax evasion, given that the G20 should be able to be a driver of inclusive, sustainable, and balanced economic growth.
On the sidelines of the G20 Summit meeting, President Jokowi will also hold bilateral meetings with several leaders of friendly countries, one of which is US President Donald Trump.
During the trip to Turkey and Germany, President Jokowi and First Lady Iriana are accompanied by Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Head of the Capital Investment Coordinating Board Thomas Lembong, Acting Head of the Presidential Secretariat Winata Supriatna, Director General of Protocol and Consular Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Andri Hadi, Private Secretary of President Anggit Noegroho, Special Staff of President Ari Dwipayana, and Acting Deputy for Protocol, Press, Media and Information Secretariat Ari Setiawan, among others.(*)
