"Through the program, we try to improve coordination and remind the people to maintain safety," Kalla said here on Sunday.
According to Kalla, the government is improving coordination among ministries and police to decrease the victim of traffic accident that reached up to 25 thousand people per year.
To minimize the traffic accident, the government constructs better traffic facilities and management, giving health service and promoting social discipline.
"Many accidents occurred due to imbalances in national development on infrastructure including poor access road," Kalla added.
However, says Kalla, the government has repaired access so that drivers could ride speedily increasing accident risk.
He added the government appealed to the people to drive safely.
The Safety Traffic Year Program for Humanity is supported by the Health Ministry, the Transportation Ministry, the State Enterprise Ministry and Police to decrease the national traffic accident rate.(*)
