The statement was conveyed by the representative of Tsingshan Holding Group, Hendra, during a field survey at the Industrial Estate and International Port area in Mangkupadi, Bulungan district, last week.
The field survey was conducted at the planned location of the development of industrial estate and international port in Tanah Merah Mangkupadi and Kayan River for the construction of hydropower.
The representative of Tsingshan Holding Group was accompanied by a group from the Coordinating Ministry of Marine Affairs during the survey from Aug 3 to 4.
Hendra explained that the results of the field survey will be reported to his management for further discussion.
He noted that the Chinese company had a very big potential to invest in the area. "We really hope Tsingshan will invest here," he stated.
Meanwhile, Director of Mining and Energy Infrastructure of the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs, Yohanes Yudi Prabangka, who accompanied the entourage, remarked that the potential of North Kalimantan was huge and relevant to the development of industrial estate.
Therefore, the provincial government had to synergize with the central government to accelerate the development of hydropower derived from Kayan River in Tanjung Selor in Bulungan district.(*)
