In addition to opening a booth featuring Indonesian products, the Indonesian embassy also presented a number of traditional dancers on the main stage, performing the Betawi Mask Dance and Balinese Dance, embassy spokesman Hardiyono Kurniawan remarked.
Thousands of spectators from Bahrain and the surrounding areas packed the parking lot of Bahrain National Stadium, which became the main stage of the "This is Bahrain" event.
"This event is held annually. Last year, we performed angklung art, which amazed the audience," Hardiyono stated.
According to him, "This is Bahrain" was organized by the Bahrain Expatriate Association as part of the series of Bahrain National Fairs, which begin on December 16.
For the event, the committee invited a number of Arab artists to appear on stage and invited the foreign community in Bahrain to celebrate the event.
Thousands of Bahrainis and residents from the surrounding areas enthusiastically watched the annual event.
Apart from the activities on the main stage, "This is Bahrain" also presented a night market that sold a variety of food, drinks, toys, and souvenirs from various expatriate communities in Bahrain, including Indonesian citizens working in the country.
Later on Sunday night, December 17, the Indonesian Ministry of Tourism in cooperation with the Embassy in Manama will hold the "Indonesia Tourism Gala Dinner."
