"The fund for education must be managed properly and productively in an effort to improve Indonesian human resources," Jokowi stated here on Wednesday.
The president affirmed that the Indonesian human resources should improve continuously to enable it to become a competitive and a developed country.
The fund has reached more than Rp31 trillion and will continue to improve in the future.
Therefore, the use of fund should be evaluated, starting from the recruitment process of the scholarship recipients.
"We should map strategic areas that need improvement," the president remarked.
The use of fund should be able to catch up with sectors that are left behind.
In terms of place of learning, the government should observe the superiority of destination countries of scholarship recipients.
"The superiority of destination countries should be studied by scholarship recipients," he added.
The president stated that the fund could be used for research, which encourages the nation`s competitiveness and energy, anticipates technology, and develops digital economic and other productive researches.
"The results of research do not accumulate in the library," the president noted.
The president stated that the use of fund should also be able to improve the skills of Indonesian workers.
"I hope the scholarship program can be given to the workers to improve their skills. As a result, they can become more professional using their good skills," Jokowi explained.
